Chelsea FC Duo of Oscar and Diego Costa separated after furious Chelsea training ground bust-up

Chelsea team-mates squared up and had to be pulled apart by their shocked team-mates after horrific challenge
Oscar and Diego Costa had to be separated by stunned Chelsea team-mates during a furious training ground bust-up on Thursday.

There were claims that the pair even exchanged blows, but an eye witness insisted Oscar and Costa were dragged apart before the incident escalated that far.

Oscar produced what is being described as an "outrageous" challenge into the knee of Costa after the striker had initially gone in hard on him.

It was after Oscar's challenge that the pair squared up and had to be pulled apart by their shocked team-mates.

While Costa has a reputation for losing his temper, the incident was largely being blamed on Oscar - even though the pair quickly struck a truce.

A source told Telegraph Sport: "Oscar's challenge was outrageous, it was straight into the knee of Costa and could have done him some real damage. That sparked a brawl between them and the other players had to stop it."

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink is said to be relaxed about the incident that came in a highly-charged training session.

Hiddink is also satisfied there will be no lasting resentment, as the brawl was already the subject of changing room jokes immediately after the session.

Chelsea face League One Scunthorpe United at Stamford Bridge in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday and it now remains to be seen whether both Oscar and Costa will be part of Hiddink's starting team.

Hiddink was planning to rest some first-team players even before Oscar and Costa clashed. The duo have enjoyed an upturn in form under the Dutchman and were on target in the 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Costa had been singled out as one of the players who cost former manager Jose Mourinho his job and was booed by some sections of the Chelsea fans following the departure of the Portuguese.

Not surprised at all!! Father and son do quarrel
