According to BBC's Sammy Darko has sent these pictures of protests in Ghana's capital, Accra, over an increase in prices for electricity, water and petrol
Some of the placards read "poverty is the worst form of violence" and "spare us our future, politicians!"

Water prices were increased by 67% in December while electricity prices were increased by 59%.
Protesters are also complaining about the introduction of new taxes and an increase in existing ones.

The demonstrations are being organised by the Trade Union Congress, and there are planned strikes on Thursday and Friday.
