Muslim teacher dies after taking bullet for attacked Christians in Kenya

A Muslim teacher, Salah Farah who took hit from the Al-Shabab terrorist group for heroically defending the lives of his fellow Christian passengers has died in surgery.
Late last month, he was on a bus loaded with Christians and Muslims alike (travelling to Mandera in Kenya ) when the bus was attacked by the Al-Shabab terrorist group.
When the militants waged the bus they asked that Christians and Muslims should split up, and asked the Muslims to escape, but Sala Farah and the rest of the Muslims in the bus refused to escape, instead they tried to stand in the gap for the already terrified Christians.

Then Sala Farah spoke up to the militants, according to his report to BBC. “We asked them to kill all of us or leave us alone.” he told BBC’s Bashkas Jugsodaay

Then a bullet hit Mr. Sala Farah, and almost for a month he has been in a hospital in the capital of Kenya till his death on tuesday.
When he was asked about his views in the entire situation of terror, he said:
“I desire that people should live peacefully together. We are brothers. It’s only the religion that is the difference, so I ask my brother Muslims to take care of the Christians so that the Christians also take care of us… and let us help one another and let us live together peacefully”.
After Sala Farah’s death the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet paid tribute to him and declared him a “Hero”
Mr Farah’s brother Rashid, in his comments to his brother’s death said he wish that his brother’s death would bring about religious harmony and encourage Kenyans to live as one community.
