Football Referee Cesar Flores Shot Dead by Player After Red Card in Argentinian Football Game

Police in Argentina have confirmed that referee Cesar Flores was shot dead during a game by a player he had earlier sent off.
As reported by Rita Sobot of the Daily Mirror, the tragic incident occurred in the Cordoba district of the country on Sunday. A section of the police statement read as follows: “It all happened during the match. We don't know what happened with the referee, but the player was angry and went to get his gun and killed him.”

Sobot wrote that the player in question had been given his marching orders earlier by Flores for apparently "flooring an opponent" and withdrew the gun from his backpack.

The man is said to have shot Flores on three separate occasions, once in the neck, head and chest.
It's also alleged that he shot another player, Walter Zarate, in the chest, and while he was “seriously injured,” his wounds are not thought to be life threatening.

Sobot noted that the shooter has yet to be captured by police, although he is still being chased.

What da hell? Where is the loveof the game?
