An Aston Martin used in James Bond epic, Spectre, fetches £2.4 million at auction

An Aston Martin made famous by the recent James Bond epic, Spectre, has sold at auction for over £2.4million.

The highly coveted DB10 is one of just ten made, and is the only model that was made available for public sale. It's little wonder then that intense bidding at London's Christie's auction house on Wednesday pushed the final price to £2,434,500.

It went on sale as part of a live auction, which contained 10 unique pieces of memorabilia from Spectre, and raised a total of £2,785,500 for humanitarian aid organisation Médecins Sans Frontiéres. MSF - or 'Doctors without Borders' as it is know in English – provides medical care and support to victims of armed conflict, epidemics and other disasters around the world.

The latest in a long line of DB models, the DB10 celebrated the British brand's half-century association with the super spy, which began with the iconic DB5 in the 1964 film, Goldfinger.

Eight of the models produced were used in the filming of Spectre, and the other has been retained as a show car, meaning that the buyer of the auctioned model now owns a true piece of both film and automotive history.
