The little lad, named Hope, was found painfully thin, riddled with worms and close to death by a charity worker.
Anja Ringgren Loven, a Danish woman, discovered him wandering naked in Nigeria after living off scraps thrown by passers-by for eight months.
Disgusted by the boy's condition Ms Loven gathered him up, fed him and gave him water from a bottle.
She wrapped the toddler in a blanket and cradled him in her arms as she took him to the nearest hospital.
Ms Loven founded the African Children's Aid Education and Development Foundation three years ago to help children who suffer unimaginable cruelty after being labelled as witches.
The youngsters are neglected and even killed by the members of their community.
Ms Loven said:
"Thousands of children are being accused of being witches and we've both seen torture of children, dead children and frightened children."
The charity is appealing for donations to help pay for Hope's medical bills.
