Shocking moment when a Palestinian woman calmly pulled knife from handbag and stabbed Israeli security guard in broad daylight

Palestinian woman has been shot after launching an horrific terror attack on an unsuspecting Israeli guard in broad daylight.
The footage shows the moment the woman, named locally as 22-year-old Hilwa Salim Darwish, approached the guard at his post at a checkpoint outside the settlement city of Betar Illit, located a short distance away from Jerusalem.

The woman from west Bethlehem, Galilee in northern Israel is seen talking to Yishai Kreitenberger, a civilian security guard who was standing at his post.

According to reports Darwish, who was wearing a black abaya and hijab, was stopped and asked for identification as she walked towards the gate of the predominantly Jewish city, with a population of 47,000.

Mr Kreitenberger, who was injured in the attack, was rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and suffered minor wounds.
He later described the events leading up to the attack.

He told the Algemeiner Journal: “I was standing at the city’s guard post when I noticed the terrorist walking towards me…She was tense, looking around [as though] she was unfamiliar with the place.
“As she approached, she presented her green Palestinian ID card.

“So I told her she could not enter. While I was talking, I saw her putting her hand in her purse. [When] I asked her why she was [doing that], she took out a knife and managed to scratch me with it.”

According to reports, Israeli forces have killed at least 72 Palestinians, including 43 who Israel says were carrying out or about to carry out attacks with knives, guns or cars.

A number of those killed in the offensive are said to be teenagers.
