Four men, including a Nigerian national and two
from Punjab, have been arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell for
allegedly running an international narcotics syndicate.
The police said they recovered 2.8 kilograms of heroin worth Rs 16
crore, two kilograms of opium and one kilogram of alprazolam, allegedly
from the accused.
The accused have been identified as Harjinder Singh, alias Rindi (28),
from Jalandhar, Durgesh, alias Mangal (33), from Laxmi Nagar in Delhi,
Ubah Casmir Amobi (35), a Nigerian national and Abu Bakr, alias Ashwani

The Special Cell was tipped off about this syndicate active in Delhi,
Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for the past three months. They were
also tipped off that on November 18, a delivery of a heroin consignment
would be made by one, Mangal to Harjinder at Burari Chowk in Delhi.
A
trap was laid there and the two men were apprehended.
"One kilogram of white heroin was recovered from them. Another one
kilogram of heroin was recovered from Mangal's scooty," said Sanjeev
Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).
The two men during their interrogation disclosed that they are allegedly
part of a big international narcotics syndicate and indulge in drug
trafficking in Delhi and Punjab, according to the police.
"In 2010, Mangal while in Tihar Jail befriended Akhtar, alias Raja.
They
