In September, Caroline came clean about her sexual relationship with the teenage boy almost half her age after he said the two months of sexual abuse would be something he "would never forget".
The relationship began when Berriman was working as a classroom assistant at Abraham Moss Community School in Manchester last year.
Speaking to The Sun, the victim’s mum, said: "We’re so happy she’s in jail.
"She deserves everything coming to her."
Berriman admitted sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust at Manchester Crown Court in September.
He told The Sun: "The first time it happened I was sat on a couch and she put her arm over me and started kissing me.
"I started kissing her back and it just went from there.
"It must have happened over 50 times in the space of those few months."
Berriman even introduced her lover to her two-year-old daughter.
He said: "It got to a point where her daughter was calling me 'Dad'. I used to say to her 'I'm not, I'm your mum's friend.'"
The new ruling comes after Solicitor General Robert Buckland QC referred the case to the Court of Appeal.
The MP said: "The prison term should send a strong message that both genders have a right to be protected from grooming."
