Man killed in freak 50mph shopping trolley accident

A swedish man, 28 has lost his after a shopping trolley he was "joyriding" in was involved in a high-speed crash with a car.

The man was travelling in the trolley with another man and was catapulted into the gutter after the 50 mph collision.

The man's friend, who is also 28 and from Sweden, was standing on the back of the trolley.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition following the freak incident in Sydney, Australia.
The pair were travelling on the wrong side of the road and crashed into a car heading in the other direction, according to reports.
Detective superintendent Gavin Dengate said: "The male was in the shopping trolley was catapulted out landing in a kerb.

"Unfortunately we all know what shopping trolleys are like, and they are very difficult to control.
"It's very, very tragic."
The 45-year-old driver was not injured and was left shaken by the incident.
