Teenager remanded for stabbing mum to death in Zimbabwe
A teenager was on wednesday remanded till December 24th 2015 for allegedly killing his mother by stabbing her several times with a kitchen knife before going on a drinking spree
Kudakwashe Ashley Sibanda, 19 allegedly murdered his mother and locked her body in the family house.
He then stole his mother's car, refueled it with fuel at a garage in the city before fleeing to Harare.
Sibanda appeared before magistrate, Judith Taruvinga facing one count of murder and another of taking off without making payment.
Prosecutors told the court that on December 3 this year, Kudakwashe stabbed Barbra Sibanda with a kitchen knife five times before locking her inside the house.
The teenager stole his mother's car and went on a drinking spree in Harare.
A neighbour who became suspicious after failing to see both Sibanda and his mother for days called the police who came to the now deceased’s residence in Southdowns.
The cops gained entry into the house and discovered Barbra's body lying in a pool of blood.
Acting on tip off police in Harare arrested Sibanda in Mbare before transferring him to Gweru central police station on Monday.
