Mohammed Dura-Ray, 16, was allegedly surrounded by a mob of up to 30 youths before he was attacked at Newington Estate in Elephant and Castle at about 10.20pm on September 14.
The teenager’s friends performed first aid as they battled to save him before emergency services arrived.
London’s Air Ambulance was sent to the scene but Mohammed was pronounced dead at the scene just half an hour later at 10.52pm. A post-mortem examination confirmed the teenager died from a stab wound to the chest.
Jordan Daley, 20, of Peabody Hill, Tulse Hill, has been charged with Mohammed’s murder and will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
