Batsman collapses and dies in South African one-day cricket competition

Namibian cricket star Raymond van Schoor has died after suffering a stroke while batting in a South African one-day championship game.

The 25-year-old was playing for Namibia against Free State.
He was 15 not out when he complained of dizziness during the 50-over game. He called for water and then collapsed.

"He took a sip or two and the next moment he stumbled over. I caught him in my arms," shocked team-mate Nicolaas Scholtz said.

Van Schoor was rushed to hospital, where he was in critical condition with swelling on the brain, and died five days later.
