Manchester University bosses reveal that divorced father-of-three Nicholas Goddard has resigned after a student spotted him starring in an X-rated film. A university professor whose secret life as a porn star was laid bare after one of his students recognised him in an X-rated film has quit.
Nicholas Goddard, a respected chemical engineering lecturer at the University of Manchester , had been living a double life as an adult film actor. Millions watched him as ‘Old Nick’ in scores of porn movies alongside his duties as a professor. But the divorced father-of-three, whose academic career spans almost 35 years, has now resigned from the university.
It is thought his second job came to light after a student recognised him in one of his films.
He said he quit starring in X-rated films after more than a decade earlier this year because it became ‘too much’.
University chiefs launched an investigation after Prof Goddard’s second job was revealed.
A statement from university bosses read: “Professor Nick Goddard has resigned from his position at the university with effect from April 1, 2016.
“His teaching and supervision duties will be undertaken by other colleagues between now and April 1, 2016.”
Oxford-educated Prof Goddard, 61, is believed to have started his second career following a divorce.
His family was apparently unaware of his other job, which involved him having sex with dozens of women - often wearing only a gold watch.
Prof Goddard appears in a number of academic videos on the university’s website - and has published scores of scientific papers during his career.
He is the lead tutor on three courses, having taught chemical engineering for nearly 25 years.
Prof Goddard said he didn’t get paid much during his stint as an adult movie star, but did get travel expenses.
