Again, Police surround London bus after umbrella is mistaken for sword for the second time in 2 days

Police officers from the City of London police  were seen surrounding a bus in the Cornhill, Bank area this morning.
Eyewitnesses said they heard screams before 10 squad cars stormed the area. But the panic ensuing in central London was not all it seemed.
Police did not find a weapon so investigated CCTV, only to realise that the man had actually been holding an umbrella.

A police spokesman confirmed they were called to the scene at about 10am this morning after a commuter panicked.

Unfortunately, the unidentified man had hopped off before the police arrived. It is yet more evidence that Londoners are on high alert just a week after three people were stabbed in Leytonstone underground station in an alleged terrorist attack.

Just yesterday half a dozen officers stormed a packed train after commuters spotted a man with a samurai sword.

Officers boarded the busy train at Deptford station only to find 22-year-old "suspect" Ray Brown was innocently carrying an umbrella.
