Amazing photo shows two snakes tangled together after a battle to the death with no winner

A picture a dead black snake emerging from a hole in a dead brown snake's body has experts baffled.
The bizarre picture emerged from Griffith in New South Wales, showing a brown snake that appears to be eating a black snake.

Both snakes seem to have died and tangled themselves together on the side of a road.
The struggle between the two creatures has been stopped mid-battle and has raised the question of ‘What is going on in this picture?’
Geoff Mitchell, the man who took the photo, told 3AW that he has ‘thought about the picture [it] quite a lot.’
When asked how the black snake had emerged from the brown snakes body, Mr Mitchell responded: ‘I don’t think the black snake could have done it itself, I think maybe something may have helped it get out.’
Mr Mitchell saw the two snakes tangled together and ‘grabbed his camera and took a picture’ of the unusual incident.
‘I had to research it and it seems quite common for brown snakes to eat black snakes, but I have seen none where one snake has punched a hole through another,’ he added.
