Pep Guardiola has told Bayern Munich he will leave the club at the end of the season according to Spanish news paper Marca.
Marca had on Tuesday said Pep Guardiola to reveal his future next week.
“Tonight I have no answer,” he said after Bayern’s DFP Pokal victory
over Darmstadt. “Next week you will know the answer. Next week there
will be clarity
Marca reports Guardiola has formally told Bayern he has no intention
of signing a new contract with his current three-year deal to expire at
the end of the season.
According to Marca, the Catalan has informed his employers at the Allianz Arena that he has
made his mind up to seek out pastures new.
He feels that things have
reached breaking point because of a fundamental disconnect between his
footballing philosophy and the club’s ethos, not to mention certain
man-management issues he has had with the squad. As far as Guardiola is
concerned, there is no turning back.
The way he sees it, his time in
charge of the Bundesliga champions has run its course and prolonging his
stay beyond the end of this season could do both the club and himself
more harm than good.
Carlo Ancelotti set to replace him, according to reports emerging on Wednesday afternoon.
