Pep Guardiola deal to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea is "90 per cent done"-Reports

Guus Hiddink is set to step up and fill in as caretaker after Jose Mourinho was given the boot by owner Roman Abramovich this afternoon.

But Guardiola is the man who has been lined up as Mourinho's long-term replacement.

A Starsport source said: "Roman Abramovich is a big Guardiola fan."The move to bring him in is already 90 per cent done already."

The 52-year-old Portuguese boss has been relieved of his Stamford Bridge position just seven months after guiding Chelsea to the Premier League title.

Mourinho drove Chelsea to title and Capital One Cup success last term, only to see his team slip to nine defeats in 16 Premier League matches so far this season.
Manchester United and City are also desperate to bring in Guardiola but their chase is set to end in failure.

The 44-year-old Spaniard, whose three-year contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season, hinted to reporters last weekend that he could be on his way.

He joined Bayern in 2013 after leading Barcelona to 14 titles in four years, and is one of the most sought-after coaches in world football.

They are desperate for him to stay, having led the team to two consecutive Bundesliga titles and with the squad on target for an unprecedented fourth straight domestic crown.

But Chelsea are set to convince him to join with a mega-bucks package at Stamford Bridge.
