Teacher in 'sex probe over over inappropriate conduct with pupil

Police are investigating Shannon Fosgett after she was accused of an improper relationship with the underage pupil.

She has been placed on leave while officers investigate the alleged incident.

One of her pupils said Fosgett, an earth science teacher at Murrieta Valley High School, California, is a "really good teacher". 

The pupil said: "I heard rumours, but I didn't really want to believe them until they were confirmed.
"And, when they were confirmed, I still kind of don't want to believe them, because it seems really out of character for her.

"She's a really good teacher and was more the kind of teacher that would just help students, not like get in their personal space."

Police confirmed they were "informed of an alleged inappropriate relationship involving a teacher at Murrieta Valley High School with a student who is minor".

They said in a statement: ""An investigation is ongoing by Murrieta Police Detectives. No details of the investigation will be released to the media at this time."
