Hamilton Water Palace in Lanarkshire, Scotland, has had to repeatedly shut down because of faecal contamination of the water.
But they’re not the only ones with a floater problem. An investigation by local paper the Hamilton Advertiser found that another pool, Lanark Swimming Pool, had to close 10 times in the same four years.

And Coalburn Swimming Pool, also in the South Lanarkshire area, has been closed down six times.

‘When this happens we close the pool immediately and carry out a strict cleaning regime to ensure any harmful bacteria is removed,’ Gerry Campbell, general manager of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, told the paper.

‘This is carried out in line with Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group guidelines.
‘For the 25-metre pool at Hamilton, this takes 36 hours.’
