Elderly man injured by escaped beast seen wandering the streets of Nairobi after escaping from national park

An elderly man was injured by a huge male lion found wandering the streets of Nairobi after escaping from a reserve on the edge of the city.

The huge beast even strayed into rush hour traffic this morning and shocked motorists caught incredible footage of him strutting along the pavement.

The lion attacked an elderly man after becoming agitated by thew noisy horns of motorists, according to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).

He was taken to hospital where he is said to now be in a stable condition, and the KWS caught the lion and returned him to Nairobi National Park.

The KWS said: 'Three KWS units have taken control of a lion incident in Nairobi National Park. A man who was injured by the lion taken to hospital.'
