Tara Hudson, a transgender woman who was sent to an all-male prison amidst public outcry has now reportedly been moved to a female one.
The transfer to the female prison came just hours after judges ruled she should not be moved during an appeal hearing.
Legally, 26-year-old Hudson, is still a man, has lived her whole adult life as a woman and has had six years of gender reconstruction surgery. She was sent to Bristol prison for 12 weeks after she admitted headbutting some one in a bar on 26-12-2014.
Her appeal to be removed from male prison was earlier dismissed today by Bristol Crown Court because of her "worrying criminal record" spanning over 8 previous convictions. This is crazy. However, reprieved has come for her as Pink News reports that she has now been moved to HMP Eastwood Park, a women's prison after more than 150k people signed a petition to move her
So still legally a man, and she is now in women's prison.
