Karina Oliani was touring the world in search of its weird and wonderful aquatic creatures when she came face to face with the terrifying snake
An adventurer diced with death when she dived into a cave system in search of an underwater cave monster.
Diver Karina Oliani discovered the eight metre anaconda, which coils around prey and crushes it to death, after a four-day quest.
The terrifying snake was one of the biggest ever encountered underwater, weighing an estimated 63 stone.
Photographer Alexandre Socci snapped the incredible while while filming the television series, Wild Ocean With Karina Oliani.

She said: “At first I was terrified by its size - I saw a huge head but could not see the end of its body.”
The snakes can move fast underwater and could have easily killed her – and she was only carrying a knife as a precaution.
“We were definitely not on her menu but it is a wild predator and you should not approach it in a way that makes it feel threatened,” said Karina.
“At first she was very shy and after about 20 minutes she got progressively less worried with my presence and we both ended the dive comfortable around each other.”
Karina has been diving since she was a child, became a certified open water scuba diver at 12, and has been a professional diver since 2002.
She has swum, cage-free, with great white sharks and has climbed some of the world’s highest mountains, including Everest .
Her most recent adventures have been filmed as part of her new television series that follows her to the depths of the ocean encountering amazing aquatic creatures.
Bonito, and inland region in south-western Brazil, is known as an “aquatic playground” because of its crystal-clear lakes and rivers and subterranean water systems.
