Ph.D Graduand dies on graduation day

A doctoral degree graduand of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ilorin, Adedimeji Ahmad, died in the early hours of Saturday, before the commencement of the convocation ceremony of the institution.

Mr. Ahmad, whose cause of death was not disclosed, was before his death a lecturer and the Chief Imam of Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State.

The Dean of the university’s Post Graduate School, Badmas Yussuf, announced the demise of the graduand while inviting the 166 graduands receiving doctoral degrees of the institution to come forward for the Vice-Chancellor’s handshake.

It was gathered that Mr. Ahmad, who bagged a Ph.D in Arabic, arrived Ilorin for the graduation ceremony before his death.
