Guillem Balague says Real Madrid could sack manager Rafa Benitez with Spanish press on alert.
The future of the former Liverpool boss, appointed at the Bernabeu in
June last year, has come under close scrutiny in recent weeks and the
55-year-old once again had to face awkward questions about his job after
Sunday night's 2-2 draw at Valencia.
But
having slipped behind Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga, it
seems the patience of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has run
out.
"Everybody is aware something may happen. It may include a board
meeting.
It's a decision Florentino Perez has had in his mind for a long
while but he's been waiting for the right time to do it."
Balague also tweeted: "Rafa's time at Real Madrid is up... It could happen this afternoon."
