An 18 year old teenager, Kaleb Amponsah was yesterday sentenced to
22 years in prison for the murder of a 27-year-old Nigerian man, after
stabbing him to death in broad daylight in an east London park.
Amponsah was found guilty of killing Ade Afariogun by stabbing him in the stomach in front of the victim’s friends.

A British
teacher was raped in her flat in Dubai in the early hours of New Year's
Day after returning home from a party the worse the wear for drink.

Henry Okah Nigeria 'terror mastermind' appeals conviction by S.Africa court
A Nigerian jailed in Johannesburg for a
series of terror attacks in his homeland on Wednesday appealed his
conviction, challenging South Africa's right to try him, his lawyer
said.
Henry Okah is serving 24 years behind bars for masterminding a series of terror attacks, including twin bombings which killed 12 people in the Nigerian capital Abuja during independence day celebrations in 2010.

Yobo to secure bail for awaiting trial inmates
Former Captain of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo, said he would work
to secure bail for many inmates of the Ikoyi Prisons, especially those
awaiting trial.
Yobo spoke at the inauguration of the Ikoyi Prisons Football Academy on Saturday in Lagos.
He said, “I have never been to the prisons before but on getting to Ikoyi Prisons, I realised the need to give hope to someone.

Nigerian pastor jailed for £4.1m fraud in UK
A Nigerian accountant and part-time
pastor in the United Kingdom, Sam Kayode, has been sentenced to nine
years in prison for stealing £4.1m.
Kayode was sentenced on Friday by
Woolwich Crown Court in South London for defrauding Haberdashers’ Aske’s
state schools in the UK.

Heroin worth Rs 16 crore seized in Delhi, Nigerian, his Tanzanian wife, 2 from Punjab arrested
Four persons including a couple from abroad were held for supplying
heroin, worth Rs 16 crore in the international market, said police
Monday.
A Special Cell team arrested Micheal Chinedu Chukwudi, a Nigerian, his wife Catherine Leonard Mrope, a Tanzanian, and two Punjab-based drug suppliers, Surender Singh and Balwinder Singh — both from Kapurthala — and recovered 4 kg of heroin from them, said police.
