Diana Franklin cruelly tied her adopted girl to a tree by her neck during a shocking six-year campaign of torture.
The naked child was also whipped by 48 year old Franklin with a belt buckle and held her at gunpoint, according to reports.
The American Civil War re-enactor - who served in the US Air Force - wrote in a diary how the girl was her "slave". She repeatedly deprived her daughter of food, water or clothing.
Sentencing her, Judge Bobby Peters said:"To me, you are just an evil woman."
The judge added: “You’ll actually get better treatment in prison than you gave your own daughter.
However, the remorseless Franklin insisted she was simply "sharing her wisdom" with the victim who she adopted when she was 10 in 2007, who according to reports, has not been named.
She was convicted of 19 counts of first-degree cruelty to children, eight counts of false imprisonment and one count of aggravated assault.
